Live music has been one of the hardest things to live without since March 2020. But fear not, all your live, indoor concert dreams are set to come true in the coming months! The Grand will be announcing their 2021-2022 lineup on Tuesday, June 22nd! On March 13th, 2020, The Grand Opera House posted on their official Facebook page to say that all events at The Grand and the Baby Grand would be postponed until further notice. “In response to the State of Delaware’s recommendation that all large gatherings be suspended to limit community transmission of COVID-19, all scheduled public gatherings are postponed until the date(s) specified by local officials.”
To keep spirits high and bring in some kind of revenue for the venue, The Grand started doing concerts by cars. These concerts were able to give people the joy of live music while keeping them safe. They also hosted movie nights in parks as well as live outdoor concerts! Indoor shows and events will officially be back just in time for the fall and winter! The Grand is known for hosting a variety of events such as live music and comedians. These events have been deeply missed over the last 15 months and the community is ready to get back to normal!
The indoor shows announcement will be made at 10 a.m. on June 22nd and Broadway in Wilmington will be announced towards the end of July! Please visit The Grand Opera House, Wilmington DE on Facebook for more information and keep your eyes out for the announcements on June 22nd!
