Get your sweet tooth ready! The Ice Cream Festival is returning to Rockwood Park on June 26th. The beloved festival is back again with more ice cream, more live music and more fun for the whole family! Enjoy a day in the sun listening to live music and eating ice cream or enjoy a refreshing beer from the Wilmington Brew Works Beer Garden. Take a stroll through the First State Flea Market, with more than 35 different vendors, and support local businesses! Proceeds from the beer garden will be benefitting the Rockwood Park Preservation Society but the festival itself is free to get into. The festival is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with the beer garden opening at 11 a.m. Ice Cream vendors will be open the entire time. Some of the vendors include, UDairy Creamery, The Ice Cream Shoppe, and Kilby Ice Cream amongst others.
With the intent to keep the community as safe as possible some activities will not be happening this year including food trucks, historic demonstrations, and fireworks. All guests are asked to follow mask and safety guidelines of the state and CDC while also being reasonably socially distanced. The only food featured at the festival this year will be ice cream and desserts, but guests are encouraged to bring a picnic for their enjoyment. In case of bad weather, updates can be found one the Facebook page and any other information about the event can be found here.
