It was located in Brooklyn New York at Coney Island. The coaster was called Switchback Railway and was created by LaMarcus Tompson. It cost a nickel to ride and went a whopping 6 miles an hour. It was a total of 600 feet long and featured a 43 foot drop.
"Love Rollercoaster" was originally released by the band Ohio Players in 1975. There is an urban legend behind the original recording that during the song's instrumental portion, you can hear a scream. It is between 1:24 and 1:28 on the single version and 2:32 and 2:36 on the single version. It's most likely just Billy Beck from Ohio Players, but some believe someone was being murdered while the tape was rolling.
The 1996 cover of the song by The Red Hot Chili Peppers was part of the soundtrack for the film Beavis and Butt-Head Do America. Dave Navarro from Jane's Addition also plays guitar on the track. He is also featured on their album that came out around this time, One Hot Minute.
