President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden had a beach birthday celebration. To celebrate her 70th birthday, the Bidens arrived at their $2.74 million Delaware vacation home in Rehoboth beach, Delaware on Wednesday June 2nd.

This was their first trip to the beach house since he was inaugurated.

They spent a breezy Thursday afternoon biking along the Gordons Pond Trail at Cape Henlopen State Park.

Just before her birthday, Jill completed teaching a virtual course at Northern Virginia Community College.

This visit has given the Biden’s an opportunity to feel comfortable without need for adjustment. Previously, President Biden has described living at the White House being “a little like a gilded cage.”

The First Lady knew instantly that this beach house was the one before seeing any other houses. “I wanted it to be the kind of place where you can come in in your wet bathing suit and bare feet and I can just take the broom and brush out the sand,” she told Vogue in 2020. “And that’s what this is. Everything’s easy.”

One of the President’s favorite places to go when residing in Rehoboth includes Double Dippers, an ice cream shop located on 11 N. First St. You can try his go-to order: a waffle cone with vanilla chocolate-chip. Plus a quart to go according to shop owner Joe Mack.

President Joe Biden wrapped up the midweek beach celebration with a press conference Friday, June 4, at Rehoboth Beach City.
