DelDot Reminds Us That Bicycles On Roadways Are Vehicles
It’s Bike Month, what a perfect time to remind ourselves that bicycles on our roadways are considered vehicles!
DelDot reminds us to take extra precaution on the as bikers and drivers of cars. When bicycling on the road it’s important to remember to go with the traffic flow, obey traffic laws, yield to traffic, be predictable, stay alert at all times, look before turning, watch for parked cars and use bike lanes & paths when they’re available.
With our winding and dark roads here in Delaware, it would help to be clothed in gear that will be easily visible to drivers of other vehicles.
🚲 #BikeMonth: Bicycles on the roadways are considered vehicles, and bicyclists are the drivers, with the same rights and responsibilities as motorists to follow the rules of the road. When riding, keep these tips in mind for a safe commute: pic.twitter.com/oj85nL3eym
