We all know how much simply petting your dog can reduce stress. According to DailyMail.co.uk, researchers at Washington State University are looking at how to best utilize therapy dogs for stress management in college students. Their research looked closely at students who had completed a four week program with a therapy animal and found that their cognition skills had significantly improved.
Results found that there was a strong correlation between having a therapy animal and being able to remain calm and concentrated. Especially in students that typically struggled with those issues in the past. Findings showed these students were able to study and even take tests in a more relaxed state of mind, which ultimately lead to more success.
