Driving With Headphones Makes Your Reaction Time 4 Seconds Slower
Whether you like to drive with headphones or ride your bike, you’re doing yourself a disservice. According to the DailyMail.co.uk, Ford conducted an experiment and found that people who operated a car or bicycle with headphones in were 4 seconds slower to react to hazards.
You can now try a new virtual experience created by Ford on your smartphone. It’s called “Shared The Road: Safe and Sound.” It uses new 8D sounds that make it seems like sounds are coming from every direction. These are the kind of sounds we are reducing by wearing headphones. This sound reduction will lead drivers to think cars around them are going slower than they really are. This happened during the experiment not only while on the road but also while using the “Share The Road” tool.
