A new Trader Joe’s store location is in construction on Fashion Center Boulevard in Newark. This Newark location will accompany the only other Trader Joe’s in the state of Delaware, which is located at Concord Pike in Wilmington. The store is taking over the space which was once filled by an Off Saks Fifth location that has been out of business since October 2019, according to Delaware Online.
Trader Joe’s has become well known for low prices on unique food items, from vegan and organic food options, to different cultural influences and more. Someone could find anything from cookie butter to turkey corn dogs and everything in between and far out. The grocery store chain employees rock Hawaiian shirts and decorate their stores with plastic lobsters.
Neighboring stores include Nordstrom Rack and DSW. This Trader Joe’s will be making strides as the first grocery store within the Christiana Fashion Center.
The company’s website says that they are working hard and plan on opening the location sometime this year. To follow along on updates and check on the store’s opening timeline, visit https://www.traderjoes.com/announcement/christiana-newark-de-coming-soon.
