Since The Pandemic Humans Have Had More Faith In Machines
Whether it’s your computer, cell phone, or just about any appliance in the house, we all know machines could break or act up at any moment. Since the start of the pandemic however, it seems humans have been putting a little bit more faith in these man-made machines. According to EurekAlert.com, the University of Southern California has found that since people have been distracted by the pandemic they are more likely to feel altruism towards other people and machines alike.
Over the last year since we have depended on machines for communication, work, and just about everything else, which has led to some feeling more “compassionate” towards them. Senior author for the study, Jonathan Gratch stated, ” people have interacted more via machines during this past year, perceptions about the value of technology increased, which led to a more favorable response to machines.”
