Amazon Logistics is opening two new delivery stations in the first state. These two locations will be joining two new fulfillment centers previously announced to be in operation in New Castle.

Not only will these newer facilities be creating opportunities for part-time and full-time employment for people in the area, but the facilities will also be making strides in the company’s environmental footprint.

By the end of 2022, Amazon says they hope to have 10,000 electric delivery vehicles operating across the country. The company has already made plans to acquire 100,000 of these vehicles to aid in delivery needs and speed.

Amazon spokesperson Jenna Hilzenrath told Delaware Business Now that the company is “…excited to continue to invest in the state of Delaware with new delivery stations that will provide efficient delivery for customers and create hundreds of job opportunities for the talented workforce. These new delivery stations represent Amazon’s unwavering commitment to safety, technological innovations, and skilled teams who are obsessed with delivering for our customers.”

The corporation has created thousands of jobs in the state of Delaware over the past 11 years and is continuing to do so with the opening of these new locations. Amazon says they usually begin the hiring process for their team one month before a location’s opening. These locations are set to open before the end of the year.
