California Company Plans The First Space Hotel
During the pandemic you’ve most likely thought about where your next vacation will be. If you’re looking to get away, like really far away, vacationing in space could be part of the no so distant future.
According to CNN.com, the California company Gateway Foundation released plans back in 2019 for a cruise style spaceship. Called the Voyager Station, the space hotel is planned to look like a wheel with 24 different modules connected by elevator shafts. Guests will have access to restaurants, bars, and even zero-gravity activities.
Apparently there have been some COVID delays even for space exploration. The original construction date was set for 2026, however now it’s looking like it will start in 2027. One of the biggest issues now in development has been figuring out how all the guests will get to space. Companies like SpaceX and Virgin Galactic will most likely be involved in the process.
While currently there is no telling how much it will cost to be a part of this space voyage. Virgin Galactic could potentially charge up to $250,000 just to reach the space hotel.
