Canada Mails Blank Postcards To Encourage Writing
Late last year Canada launched a program called, “Write Here Write Now” which encourages citizens to write each other as a way to stay connected during the pandemic. The Canadian Post CEO Dough Ettinger says that the purpose is to write to someone that you’re personally close to that lives farther away than you would like.
According to Newser.com, the postage will already be paid on these postcards, so they can be mailed for free. Six different versions of the postcard will randomly be sent to everyone’s home and each has a simple message of “love, appreciation, or thanks” inside. After a year of video calls, emails, zoom, and more Canada believes many people will find the postcards refreshing.
