Having In-Door Plants Can Improve Psychological Well-Being
If you’ve thought about buying plants since the start of the pandemic it would certainly be worth your time and money. According to eurekalert.com, a research group from the University of Seville’s School of Agricultural Engineering found that having plants in home made for a much more positive psychological experience spending long periods of time at home during a lockdown.
The study, which was published in the scientific journal Urban Forestry and Urban Greening, determined the roll of plants in people’s homes during the first COVID lockdown. Looking at March through June 2020 it was confirmed that having plants inside your house led to more positive emotions. 74% of responders which made up 4200 people from 46 countries believed their plants made them happier while inside. Those who did not spend time with in-door plants were much more likely to experience negative emotions.
Most of those surveyed even said they would have liked to have more plants than they did. Before of that, 40% said they would be buying more plants in the future.
