Free Tree-Shredding Event In Wilmington January 9th to Keep Trees Out Of Our Landfill
The Delaware Center for Horticulture and Davey Tree Expert Company are hosting a free family-friendly tree-shredding event Saturday, January 9, 2021 from 10am to 2pm at The Delaware Center for Horticulture parking lot (1810 North Dupont Street in Wilmington).
The DCH is hosting this event in an effort to keep trees out of the landfill! The trees brought to the tree-shedding event on January 9th will be turned back into useful mulch, prolonging the life and sustainability of our Christmas trees. It costs you nothing to drop off your tree at this socially distant event. Drive up with your tree, stay in your car and the DCH and Davey Tree Expert teams will do the rest.
Trees will be shredded in a commercial chipper and grinder. Therefore, please remove all ropes, wires, stands, or metal objects from your tree, or please disclose anything that may hurt or injure these workers upon drop-off.
The Delaware Center for Horticulture will also be accepting donations on-site to benefit DCH’s community forestry efforts. For more information please visit thedch.org/treecycle.
