What To Expect From Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade 2020
The show must go on for the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade. However, it is going to look very different!
After 90 years, the traditional route through Manhattan will not be taken. Instead, a revised route will be airing on TV and also online. According to pix11.com, there will be a staging area around Macy’s Herald Square instead of the usual 2.5 mile route. The parade will also not have in-person spectators this year due to the pandemic.
Other changes include the number of participants reduced by around 75%, all in attendance will be social distancing and wearing face coverings. The floats will not be handled by volunteers but, instead attached to specially equipped vehicles. There will also not be any high school or college students in the marching band this year due to the virus.
You can still expect to see the parade’s famous giant balloons, floats, and of course an appearance from Santa Claus. There will also still be celebrity appearances and performances! You can expect to see Dolly Parton, Jordan Sparks, Pentatonix, and more.
