Women Named Karen Say It’s Ruining Their Love Life

Over the last year, women named Karen are saying that their name is ruining their love life! This is because of  the internet joke that the name Karen has become associated with being a pushy and entitled middle aged woman. According to dailymail.co.uk, the dating app Wingman has asked users named Karen how their results differ from the last year. They have found that "Karens" have received  close to a third less engagement overall since 2019.

Wingman insists there is a trend considering the surge in usage for the app since the start of the pandemic. However, it would be fair to say the start of the pandemic also increased the use of the name Karen as an insult. Data shows that women named Karen receive 31% less engagement on the app since 2019 and also get 1/3 as many message responses.

The app Wingman allows friends to write testimonials for the person looking for a date. One of the most popular for someone named Karen is currently, "she is not a real Karen".
