For the first time in four years dogs are headed back to the White House! According to People.com, Biden's German Shepard Major will be the first rescue dog to ever make 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue their home.
Major was adopted from the Delaware Humane Society back in November of 2018. The Biden family also have another German Shepard named Champ. He was first welcomed into their home around Christmas time in 2008. Champ lived with Biden while he served as Vice President at the US Navel Observatory. Back in 2017 Jill Biden had stated Champ would have the hardest time leaving. That was because of the constant attention from security guards and staff, Champ never went without a treat or pet!
When asked back in February why dogs were so important President Elect Biden stated, "Dogs remind you to live in the present...they love unconditionally and they savor every moment with you."
