Man Banned For Life From Walt Disney World For Camping On Premises During Shutdown
A man has been arrested and banned for life from Walt Disney World, for camping on the premises of the theme park during the coronavirus shutdown.
Richard McGuire, of Alabama, was found trespassing on the abandoned Discovery Island on April 30. His plans were to camp on what he described as a “tropical paradise” and didn’t realize there were no trespassing laws on the land, according to Fox News.
As he slept in a building on Discovery Island, McGuire stated he was unaware of police deputies searching for him on foot, by boat, and by aircraft.
Discovery Island was formerly known as Treasure Island before it closed in 1999.
