Mix Morning Show with Johnny B & Jessie Jordan

5:30am - 10:00am

Longwood Gardens is gearing up to safely host its annual Chrysanthemum Festival and Longwood Christmas this year. Both events will have COVID restrictions in place.

The annual Chrysanthemum Festival will run October 22 to November 15 and Longwood Christmas will be November 20 to January 10. Longwood is notable for its annual chrysanthemum show. Pierre S. du Pont first began growing chrysanthemums in the Grand Conservatory in 1921.

At this annual event, which is one of the largest chrysanthemum festivals in the United States, Longwood visitors can set their eyes on the Thousand Bloom Chrysanthemum, a single plant that is grown and cared for to produce as many perfect blooms as possible.

This single plant measures 12 feet wide and nearly 10 feet tall, according to Town Square reports.

Longwood is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with extended hours until 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays through Oct. 31 for the Illuminated Fountain Performances at 8:15 pm.

Tickets and member reservations should be made in advance online at longwoodgardens.org.
