“Everything comes full circle.” This holds true when it comes to vinyl sales this year. Vinyl sales surpassed CD sales for the first time since the 1980s, according to the RIAA’s mid year report for 2020.

As a matter of fact, vinyl records actually made up more than half of all physical music sales. 62% of the $376 million in physical music revenue was in vinyl.

According to The Tastemakers albums chart, Metallica’s S&M2 was the fourth highest selling vinyl at indie and small chain stores. October 24th is the next Record Store Day.
