Magician David Blaine took to the sky, over 23,000 feet high, holding only balloons today.
He wore a harness and held 52 helium-filled balloons, given to him one by one on the ground. He then lifted into the air from the balloons and was projected to reach an altitude of 18,000 feet. Instead he went over 23,000 feet high and then proceeded to fall from the sky by parachute. Due to the rising altitudes while holding just balloons, altitude sickness was at stake, making this stunt extremely dangerous.
He used an oxygen tank to regulate the oxygen flowing from his lungs to his brain. He did not equip his parachute until halfway up.
This event streamed exclusively on YouTube, which helped to fund David Blaine's Ascension.
