Coronavirus Coverage

Governor Carney had his weekly coronavirus briefing yesterday. Just about 37 minutes in, Jamie Mack, the Division of Public Health’s Health Systems Protection chief said that service at some of the beach bars will reopen. This goes into effect for Labor Day weekend. Of course, there are some guidelines that must be followed. Patrons will be permitted to sit at the bars for service. They must have reservations and order food. Guests must also socially distance from those in different households. The bars have to follow all rules under the state’s current reopening plan. Governor Carney mentioned that Delawareans need to continue to follow health guidelines this holiday weekend to prevent spread of coronavirus.  In the briefing, Governor Carney also talks about the current trend in cases, school reopening, school sports and relief for small businesses.
