Are you a leftie? If so, you get your moment in the spotlight today. It’s National Left Hander’s Day. About 10% of the world’s population is left-handed. Another fun fact – Four of the last seven presidents have been lefties: Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush, and Gerald Ford. Also, more than 20% of Apollo astronauts were lefties. In 1996, Harvard Medical School researchers found attorneys and architects as a group, were the most left-handed. Other lefties include Bill Gates, Oprah, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Albert Einstein, and Jimmy Hendrix. Let’s not forget about Lady Gaga and Jerry Seinfeld. And another tidbit for your next trivia night: the formal name for left-handedness is sinistrality.
