Here’s What You Can Do This Weekend!
Tonight is Astronomy night! You can stargaze and learn folklore and see what constellations are most visible during the summer months in Brandywine Creek State Park! The event is from 9-10 pm and if it is too rainy or you can’t make it, they have another one on August 21st. Pre-registration is required because space is limited.
If the kids need to get some energy out, Woodlawn Library presents Yoga Adventures with Jitterbugs. The kids will go on a yoga storytelling adventure! They will work on 20-25 yoga postures. The program will be on zoom and space is limited, so be sure to pre-register. It’s appropriate for ages 2-12. This is today August 7th at 2 pm but it occurs 3 more times through August 28.
“Curbside Wilmington” is a great way to support local businesses and encourage people to enjoy the rejuvenated downtown district during the summer. Restaurants have expanded their outdoor dining so socially distant seating is available for some of your favorite restaurants including Bardea, El Diablo and Stitch House Breweries. This is a daily occurring event, but it’s going to be a beautiful weekend! Here are details!
If you’re taking a long weekend or you need a reason to play ‘hooky’ on Monday, head to Dewey Beach for a family movie night! Movies start at 8:30 on the beach at Dagsworthy Avenue. On Monday you can catch Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation.
Longwood Gardens is always a beautiful place to visit. Their fountain show are on. Timed tickets are required.
Runners and Walkers! You can participate in the virtual 5K for the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware! The Ronald McDonald House of Delaware provides a safe, affordable “home-away-from-home” to families of seriously or chronically ill or injured children who are being treated at area hospitals and operates 3 Ronald McDonald Family Rooms within pediatric units of hospitals across Delaware.
