UD President Dennis Assanis announced that a majority of classes will be held online during the upcoming fall 2020 semester. Courses that require an in-person component will meet on campus. As previously announced, classes will begin on September 1. Following Thanksgiving break, all courses and final exams will be held online. Tuition will remain flat. The announcement comes shortly after the university’s decision to cancel all fall sports.
The University of Delaware is taking a number of safety precautions. UD will test students, faculty, and staff who return to campus this fall upon arrival and thereafter as appropriate. They are also coordinating with the Division of Public Health to implement contact tracing. In an attempt to limit the number of students on campus, the university will convert dorms to single occupancy bedrooms. UD requires everyone to wear a mask outside of personal living spaces. Employees, students and visitors will complete a daily electronic health-screening questionnaire. You can read the full statement and get more details here.
