Produce Junction Coming To Newport After COVID-19 Delays
Back in October, Produce Junction announced the opening of a new location in Newport. Renovation work has begun in the strip center on West Newport Pike at the former Family Thrift site. The company has made very little progress and never declared an opening date for the new store. According to Delaware Online, spokesperson, Chris Laino said the project “was delayed due to difficulty securing contractors as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.” Laino said they would like to open the store at the end of 2020.
Produce Junction has 19 locations across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. This will be the second location in Delaware in addition to the company’s Dover store. Produce Junction features fruits, vegetables and flowers. They stock items not typical to the area such as dragon fruit and cactus leaves.
