NASCAR Pit Crew Member Hit in Crash on Pit Road During Brickyard 400
During Sunday’s Brickyard 400 race, the NASCAR community experienced quite a scare when one of Ryan Blaney’s pit crew members was hit during a crash on pit road at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Early on in the race, a wreck happened near the entrance of pit road which sent cars in every direction. Due to the confusion, driver Brennan Poole accidentally swerved into Blaney’s pit stop, making direct contact with the crew member.

After being hit by the car, the crew member dragged himself to the wall out of any potential danger. Crew members attended to the downed pit mechanic and the wreck was slowly cleared out.
Paramedics arrived on the scene and loaded the crew member onto a gurney. Fortunately, the crew member who was hit seemed to be okay, giving a thumbs up to everyone and his team in great spirits.

The pit road pile-up crash involved Poole, Corey LaJoie, Ryan Preece, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Martin Truex Jr. and Justin Allgaier.
Preece, LaJoie, Truex, Allgaier, Stenhouse, and Poole are all done for the day after being involved in that pit road accident | #NASCAR

Allgaier had been racing in place of Jimmie Johnson, who tested positive for COVID-19 days before the race.
