Have You Listened to Southern Delaware’s Country Star Jimmie Allen?
Although WJBR doesn’t necessarily spin country music too often, (our sister station 92.5 WXTU Philly’s Country Station handles that) we do love honoring amazing people from Delaware!
And one of our favorite artists we hear on WXTU is Jimmie Allen, a Southern Delaware native! Being a South Delaware native, Allen draws his musical inspiration from traditional country, rock, and R&B. It was his father who first showed him Country music, but his mom introduced him to Christian Rock. And a Christian Rock concert was the first music concert he ever went to. He also loves Matchbox Twenty, their album Yourself or Someone Like You being the first ever album he bought. Lastly, his musical crushes are Adele and Shania Twain. So all in all, Jimmie Allen is super down to earth and makes amazing music.
Allen has had quite the journey, taking leaps of faith to make it in the music industry, like living in his car just to be in Nashville, Tennessee.
Jimmie Allen is now regarded as one of country music’s most promising new artists. After releasing his debut single, “Best Shot” his career took off on radio and made touring a popular attraction for fans.
