Jeffrey Epstein Confidante Ghislaine Maxwell Arrested on Sex Abuse Charges
Ghislaine Maxwell, confidante of disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, has been arrested by the F.B.I. in New Hampshire at 8:30 a.m (Thursday, 7/2/20).
She is now in federal court and is expected to appear in federal court at some point Thursday.
Maxwell has been accused of involvement in Epstein’s sexual crimes, has been arrested by two senior law enforcement sources. Maxwell is arrested on charges she conspired with Epstein to sexually abuse minors. The charges come from cases as far back as 1994, and involving girls as young as 14. Virginia Roberts Giuffre, one of the teenagers abused by Epstein and involved with Maxwell, leveled that charge against Maxwell in a 2015 defamation suit, along with many other women.
“In some instances, Maxwell was present for and participated in the sexual abuse of minor victims,” the indictment says.
Epstein, a registered sex offender who has been seen with presidents and CEOs across industry platforms, was arrested last summer on federal charges exploiting dozens of underage girls involved in a prostitution and abuse pyramid scheme.
Epstein died in custody and was ruled a suicide. Two of the guards whose duty was to monitor Epstein are now facing federal charges for not properly supervising him before his death.
On the day before his suicide, Epstein had repeatedly refused to admit whether Maxwell had procured young girls for him.
Story still developing.
