Miley Cyrus Is Getting Sued For Stealing: Here’s Why
Like so many celebrities right now, Miley Cyrus is in trouble with a photographer over an Instagram pic.
Per Page Six, the singer is in hot water for allegedly stealing the photographer’s photo of her from New York Fashion Week and posting it to social media. “Atlanta-based shooter Chosen Figure took the snap of Cyrus, wearing a crop top, black slacks and red boots, as she left the Marc Jacobs show Feb. 12, according to the suit filed in Manhattan federal court.”
They add that the photo garnered 2,618,259 likes on Instagram.
The photographer’s lawyer, Richard Liebowitz, said in a statement, “Defendants ran the photograph on their website to promote their brand. Defendants did not license the photograph … nor did defendants have Plaintiff’s permission or consent to publish the photograph.”
The suit is seeking $150,000 in damages.
