Neal Schon had a positive update for Journey fans: A new album is in the works.

Schon shared a video of himself on Instagram noodling around on his sweet custom Gibson guitar that featured the caption, “Been in studio and Journey album is starting to take shape.”

This would be Journey’s first new studio album since 2011’s Eclipse.

This news is certainly eventful but rather tame to the headlines the band has made in recent months. In March, Schon and keyboardist Jonathan Cain fired drummer Steve Smith and bassist Ross Valory and filed a lawsuit accusing Smith and Valory of an attempted takeover of the Board of Directors at Nightmare Productions, Inc., one of Journey’s corporate entities.

In May, Schon announced Journey’s new rhythm section: bassist/former American Idol judge Randy Jackson and drummer Narada Michael Walden.
