Woman Turning 105 Receives Nearly 200 Birthday Cards From Strangers
The much-needed feel-good story of Ada Daniel is a cause for celebration as the lively British native turned 105 on Monday.
She was born on June 1st, 1915, and lives in a nursing home in Derbyshire, Britain. Diane Reeves, an activity coordinator at Codnor Park, came up with the idea to reach out to Facebook to ask people to send Ada birthday cards since she has no living family. Over 200 cards showed up at Codnor Park, Ada celebrated by reading all 200 cards, singing songs and having a tea party. She says her longevity is due to “not worrying about things and to keep going.” Ada Daniel has lived through 25 prime ministers, four monarchs, and survived both world wars. She was married until her husband, Percy died at the age of 77.
