According to the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office, the fire that gutted the Lighthouse restaurant in Dewey Beach was set intentionally. Damage from the fire is estimated to be approximately $750,000. No injuries were reported. The Lighthouse was in the process of being rebuilt after being torn down last spring. It was expected to be ready for the summer of 2020.

The damage caused by this act also extends well beyond our property and into our community, as area residents will be impacted by the loss of vital jobs the restaurant would have provided.“
