The Queen/Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody grossed over $900 million worldwide and netted numerous awards, including four Academy Awards. Due to its success, there have been rumors about a sequel, but according to Brian May, fans shouldn’t bet on one.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, May said, “Don’t think we didn’t think about it. We’ve talked. Basically we think not, at the moment. Things could change, I suppose, but I think it would be difficult…I don’t think that would be an uplifting thing to do. I’m not saying it’s impossible because there is a great story there, but we don’t feel that’s the story we want to tell at the moment.”

In March 2019, Queen music video director Rudi Dolezal told Page Six, “I’m sure he [Queen manager Jim Beach] plans a sequel that starts with Live Aid.” Dolezal also said at the time a sequel was “being heavily discussed in the Queen family.”
