Houston’s Megan Thee Stallion and Beyoncé will be honored in a major way. The H-Town rapper and singer will be recognized by the city of Houston for giving the proceeds of Megan’s “Savage” Remix featuring Beyoncé to a local organization, Bread of Life Houston, to assist those in need amid the COVID-19 pandemic, as Click 2 Houston reports.

Last week, Hot Girl Meg released the single featuring her idol Bey, sending her Hottie fans and the Beyhive into an uproar of excitement. Many fans took to social media praising the collaboration, as we previously reported.

Megan has also partnered with Amazon to provide supplies to a local nursing home and the Houston native also gave money away to fans in need during the coronavirus pandemic on social media.

Beyoncé also recently pledged to contribute $6 million for mental health awareness amid the global health crisis, among various efforts, including participating in COVID-19  relief benefit shows.

Megan shared her excitement for the feature from Beyoncé while also expressing her desire to have an official day in Houston. Fortunately for Thee Stallion, her wish came true.

“It’s Megan and Beyoncé Day,” Megan said in a video the rapper posted on Instagram. “If today ain’t my day, I don’t know what today is. Houston, tell them to give me my day,” the artist said.

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner confirmed that both Megan and Beyoncé would receive official days in the city of Houston. “Because of both artists’ contributions to uplifting our communities, holding down #HTown, and for helping us remain #HoustonStrong, our city will present both artists with their own respective days,” Turner tweeted.

Turner plans to work with both entertainers’ teams to appropriately make the day a reality.
