NASA Images Show Cleaner Air in Delaware This Spring
NASA satellite imagines indicate that the air in Delaware is cleaner this spring. The images DO have limitations. Ground level conditions may not be the same as the conditions detected from space. Nitrogen Oxide levels in March 2020 are about 30% lower on average across the I-95 corridor from DC to Boston compared to the mean of 2015-2019. Areas south of the I-95 corridor in Delaware have also seen cleaner air. The space agency reported “These recent improvements in air quality have come at a high cost, as communities grapple with widespread lockdowns and shelter-in-place orders as a result of the spread of COVID-19.”
