Governor Carney Orders Quarantine for Out-Of-State Travelers
Governor Carney announced that all out-of-state travelers arriving in Delaware must self-quarantine for 14 days in order to stop the spread of coronavirus. The order goes in effect today (March 30th 2020) at 8 am and applies to anyone who has entered Delaware in the last 14 days but does not apply to travelers who are passing through the state and those who are caring for family members. Those who under self-quarantine are allowed to leave for medical care. Those who live out-of-state and commute to Delaware for essential work are “strongly encouraged” to work from home. The self-quarantine requirement does not apply to public health, public safety or health care workers or any other people who work for essential businesses. Governor Carney’s goal is to “limit a surge in COVID-19 cases that would overwhelm out hospital system.”
