University of Delaware’s UDance Dance Marathon STILL Raises 1.7 Million For B+ Foundation.
The event was cancelled but they got creative….
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the University of Delaware’s had to cancel their annual UDance Dance Marathon which raises money for childhood cancer. Of course, students, faculty, and surrounding communities were devastated. Nothing was going to stop these dedicated students from celebrating their efforts. They had one final fundraising push on March 22nd. Students shared memories of previous marathons on social media. Their UDance line dance is normally performed every hour at the event. As it circulated the internet, students took videos of themselves dancing along with family and friends whom they have been quarantined with. Live performances were also streamed on social media. The UDance Executive Board posted a final dance that was a culmination of ALL MEMBERS dancing TOGETHER in their locations. Overall, they still managed to raise 1.7 million dollars for the Andrew McDonough B Positive Foundation!
