Three New Positive COVID-19 Cases at University of Delaware
All three people are under the age of 30. Two graduate students and a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Delaware have tested positive for coronavirus, Delaware health officials announced late Thursday morning. In response, classes are canceled.
They were in contact with the professor, who was announced yesterday as the first case, at an off campus event.
All patients are self-isolated in their homes and are not considered to be seriously ill.
“The university continues to work closely with the Delaware Division of Public Health to track students, faculty and staff who were in contact with the individuals who have tested positive for coronavirus,” UD President Dennis Assanis wrote in a letter to the school community. “Members of our community who may have had close contact with them will be notified and evaluated by DPH.”
