Governor John Carney has declared a state of emergency, after three additional cases of the coronavirus were announced in Delaware.
This State of Emergency takes effect as of 8 a.m. Friday, March 13th, 2020. It will require the Delaware National Guard to "take precautionary and responsive actions to assist with Delaware's response to the coronavirus."
It has been requested of event organizers to please cancel nonessential gatherings of more than 100 people. Public meetings can be conducted electronically. The state of emergency also prohibits price gouging during the outbreak.
The health department announced three additional cases of the virus, totaling to four people infected in Delaware as of March 12th, 2020.
