Jon Bon Jovi Re-Recording ‘Unbroken’ with Prince Harry for Invictus Games
“Unbroken” is one of Bon Jovi’s newest songs, but the track is already getting a re-recording for a great cause and with a very special guest.
In an appearance on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show with Sky, Jon Bon Jovi said how he reached out to Prince Harry with the song as a gift to the Invictus Games, a Paralympics-like event created by Prince Harry where wounded and injured members of the armed services take part in various sporting events. Prince Harry got on board with the idea, and now the song will be re-recorded tomorrow (February 28) at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, with the royal sitting in on the recording session.
“He said yes and stuck now to it, so we’re doing it…I’m gonna hand him [Harry] a tambourine and see what he’s got going,” said Bon Jovi.
The session will also feature the Invictus Games’ choir, and the track will act as a charity single raising funds for the Invictus Games themselves.
The 2020 Invictus Games and this recording are some of Prince Harry’s final duties he and wife Meghan Markle will complete before officially stepping down as senior members of the British Royal Family. When asked about the current royal situation, Bon Jovi playfully said, “I’ve been asking, ‘What do I do? How do I address him?’ And then I realized I’m gonna call him ‘The Artist Formerly Known as Prince.'”
