Two UD Students Are Being Tested For Coronavirus
This is out of abundance of caution, the risk to the community is low….
The University of Delaware has confirmed that two students are being screened by the Delaware Division of Public Health for possible cases of coronavirus. Officials want to stress that the risk to the UD community remains low, but shared the information out of an abundance of caution. The students being screened do not live on campus. They are currently in isolation at an area hospital receiving care. Results from the CDC are expected in the coming days. Again, the risk to the community is low. The Division of Public Health advises Delawareans that the flu remains a greater threat, especially for those with underlying health conditions.
The US has 13 reported cases of coronavirus, with the first group of quarantined travelers leaving from the epicenter of the virus in China cleared. More than 1,000 deaths have been reported.
