Kent County Man Quarantined For Potential Case of Coronavirus
Delaware Health Department has been informed of a potential case of coronavirus in Kent County, as of Wednesday, January 29, 2020.
The Division of Public Health refuses to release any personal information about the resident, other than the patient’s travel history and current symptoms which lead the health department to perform their tests on the individual.
Test results of the Kent County resident are expected to come in in the next few days. As for now, the patient is quarantined in a hospital to prevent symptoms from spreading. The hospital would not be named.
Coronavirus has become a global concern, circulating throughout China, hospitalizing thousands and killing more than 100 people so far.
Maryland and Pennsylvania are also investigating possible cases of the virus. New Jersey has tested a possible case patient, but fortunately, the test results came back negative. There have been no deaths due to the virus reported from outside of China.
Customs and Border Protection have enhanced health screenings at several airports, including Philadelphia International Airport, to identify travelers sickened by coronavirus coming into the United States from Wuhan, China, where the flu virus is at its worst.
