David Bowie: Previously Unreleased Track ‘Stay ’97’ Now Streaming
The latest track preview from David Bowie‘s six-track digital EP Is It Any Wonder?, which is made up of rare and unreleased tracks, is now available.
“Stay” was originally featured on Bowie’s 1976 album Station to Station. “Stay ’97,” which has been unreleased until now, was recorded and mixed at the Right Track Recording studios in New York City in May and June of 1997 while Bowie was prepping and rehearsing for his upcoming tour in support of his Earthling album. The purpose of re-recording the track was to update previously recorded tracks so they meshed better sonically with Bowie’s newer music.
“Stay ’97” is the third track preview from Is It Any Wonder? following last week’s release of “I Can’t Read ’97” and an unreleased version of “The Man Who Sold The World.”
