Lewes’ Popular Mexican Restaurant ‘Agave’ Is Expanding To New Castle County
One of the most popular Delaware beach restaurants is expanding into Rehoboth and also New Castle County. If you’ve eaten at “Agave” Mexican restaurant in Lewes, you know how exciting this is for New Castle County.
Agave owner Mike Firetti has stated the new location will be near U.S. 301 in Middletown, DE and will most likely open in 2021. Firetti went on to say, there are plans to have an Agave location in Wilmington. But as of right now, the delicious Mexican eatery is expanding into Downtown Rehoboth and will surpass the size of the Lewes restaurant. The Rehoboth location construction has started next to The Summer House on Rehoboth Ave. and is set to open this summer.
Agave first opened in Lewes, Delaware in 2008, as a 30-seat restaurant and has become one of the most popular restaurants in the Delaware beach area. It has grown so popular, it does not take reservations and waits are often expected to be two hours. Known for its stock of over 100 tequilas, margaritas, and mahi mahi puffy tacos, tourists and locals alike flock to Lewes.
