The New Name Of The Green Room Has Been Announced!
The famous Green Room is closed for renovations! They are redoing the restaurant at the Hotel DuPont and turning it into a French Brasserie. It was known as the Green Room for DECADES, the new name was finally announced….
The new name of what was formerly known as the Green Room has been announced! Le Cavalier at the Green Room will be coming to Hotel DuPont this spring. ‘Le Cavalier’ means the horseman in French, and it honors deep equestrian tradition in the Brandywine River Valley. It all started with Caesar Rodney, who was a signer of the Declaration of Independence and President of Delaware during the Revolutionary War. Rodney is honored with a horseback statue overlooking Rodney Square. When the Hotel opened in the early 20th century, visitors would arrive by horse just as often as car or foot. Interesting, right? Of course including ‘at the green room,’ honors the restaurants history and legacy. The French brasserie will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and weekend brunch 7 days a week, 365 days a year. What do you think of the new name?
