Train Cars Derail in Montchanin, Delaware
Three train cars crossing Montchanin, Delaware derailed on Wednesday afternoon, December 11, 2019.
The train cars were carrying butane, although no gas was spilled on the scene. One train car came to halt after flipping on its side right round 2:00 p.m. at the intersection of Montchanin Road and Adams Road.
Department of Natural Resources has been handling the situation and determined the area was safe, reporting there were no signs of spillage. Work crews had to use heavy lifting equipment that Wednesday night in order to recover the train cars and get them back on track.
