Bon Scott will be honored in Australia next year around the 40th anniversary of his unexpected death in the form of a festival taking place on a makeshift “Highway to Hell,” so to speak.
Per Australia’s ABC News, a portion of Canning Highway, one of Perth, Australia’s busiest roads, will be closed for 10 hours on March 1 for the Perth Festival. The road will be “transformed into a 10-kilometer entertainment precinct featuring bands performing AC/DC songs from the back of flatbed trucks and semi-trailers as they travel along the route.”
Along the highway, there will be various picnic areas, performance stages and food vendors for festival-goers to enjoy.
Also on tap for the festivities will be an attempted “World’s largest karaoke rendition” of the AC/DC classic “Highway to Hell.” No word yet on if representatives from Guinness World Records will be there to observe the event.
