The Flu Has Officially Reached Delaware
The first case of the flu in Delaware this season is a pediatric case, in an 8-year old boy from New Castle County. Now that there is a confirmed case in the area, we hope others will be encouraged to get a flu shot, not only for themselves, but for those around them as well.
Getting a flu shot is quick and easy. The vaccine is recommended for any person over six months of age, taking up to two weeks to reach it’s full protection.
Over 6,000 cases were reported in Delaware last flu season, with 24 cases becoming fatal.
