The Kennedy family is dealing with another in a long string of tragedies. Saoirse Kenney Hill, a granddaughter of Robert F. Kennedy, has died, the Kennedy family said in a statement Thursday. She died hours after emergency workers responded to a medical emergency at the Kennedy compound on Cape Cod, according to CNN.
Saoirse Kennedy Hill was the daughter of Courtney Kennedy Hill, who was one of the 11 children of the late presidential candidate and the environmental and human rights activist Ethel Kennedy.
Local TV news station WHDH reported that she was 22, and was scheduled to graduate from Boston College next year. The family has not said how Kennedy Hill died. “Our hearts are shattered by the loss of our beloved Saoirse. Her life was filled with hope, promise and love,” they said in a statement.
According to the New York Times, “The authorities issued a statement confirming a death at the property but did not disclose the identity of the victim or the cause of death. They quote the authorities as saying, “The matter remains under investigation by the Barnstable police as well as state police detectives assigned to the Cape and Islands District Attorney’s Office.”
